This week we have my first guest, Jeff White, a 20 year UX veteran working on products like Alexa at Amazon. Jeff didn’t agree with my thoughts on “UX/UI,” so today we get a second opinion from an agency perspective.
Sometimes you need a second opinion
I met Jeff White a couple of months back on LinkedIn. Jeff is a UX veteran with 20 years of experience in the design industry working on products like Alexa for Amazon and running his own software shop since 2014, Stepladder out in Seattle.
He and I got to talking about the podcast and I said something like “I’d love to know what you think.”
Several episodes back I talked about how I define UX. I also used some pretty exaggerated language when I said something like “my eyes roll into the back of my head” when I hear people say “UX/UI.”
Well, after that episode Jeff called me out. He sent me a message and he said something like: “I agree with some things you said, but I couldn’t disagree more with other things you said.”
So…
I thought: Let’s get him on the show to talk about it. So, I’m excited to get a different perspective on UX/UI from someone with a background in agency and consulting work.
Join me this week for my first-ever guest where Jeff and I kick around what it means to be a “UX/UI” designer, designer titles, and a bunch of other stuff.
